There were some truly unique mobile homes in the past. Some made sense. Some didn't. Most unique mobile homes have one affair in mutual – they were created by dreamers trying to solve a trouble and they may have worked had they not been before their time.
The need for affordable housing is never catastrophe. Land is sparse in populated areas so typically the most affordable selection is to build upward instead of out. Though manufactured homes are typically single story dwellings they could exist modified to be stacked. The SkyeRise Terrace Concept was the Ultimate Highrise Mobile Dwelling Park
The industrialist, Elmer Frey of Marshfield Homes, a well-known force of the era'south mobile dwelling movement had a dream to build 2 unique mobile homes or high-rise structuresside past side, and he was used to getting his way. A few years later SkyRise Terrace was indeed built but at a much smaller calibration.
The SkyeRise Terrace Gets Built!
Just a bit north of St. Paul there is a smaller version of the SkyeRise Terrace. The concept was built by the Frey Building Visitor and was merely three sections and 3 stories for a full of 9 mobile homes. Though information technology was a semi-round design, similar to the SkyeRise Terrace projection, it was nowhere near extravagant as the unique mobile home concept.
They may have planned to complete the circle just the 'edifice' was plagued with issues from the beginning.
Unfortunately, the concept was considered a failure and only lasted a couple of years, in function, because the water pumps couldn't get the water to the top flooring per Dave Kenney'southward article on Streets MN. Unique Mobile Homes: Tornado Towers
A like concept was also built in 1972 in Mankato, MN. It housed 20 mobile homes in a rectangle shape that was 4 stories tall. Several journalists called it one of the nation'southward ugliest buildings.

I read the book just based on the art and information technology was pretty good (I hear the volume is a lot better than the movie).
